This Sunday me and my boyfriend went to my grandmas for Sunday lunch. I only go once in a while as I get a mound of food, which makes you so full you loose most of Sunday because you don’t want to move! That said it makes it more special, like a treat once every few months- this one was great! We had lamb that literally melted in your mouth with veg and Yorkshire puddings ( I snook a third one later!) for pudding after we had macaroni pudding! It was all so good! I’d like to go back in time and to not be on my dinner at work with my salad!
For lent, or tbh in my reasoning to see if I can actually not eat chocolate for 40 days (actually lent lies and its 46!!) I have managed 7 days so far. I am actually managing okay for now. Its hot chocolates that I am missing!
I also have given up bread to see if that has an effect on my weight!
A while ago I made these beauties! A cupcake and a cookie!
They were so delicious!
To make them:
For the Buns:
100g Self raising flour
and a drop of vanilla essence
Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees on an electric fan oven! All I do is cream together the marge and sugar and then beat in the eggs with a splash of vanilla. After this you fold in the flour.
Put the cases into a bun tin, I normally get 12 cupcakes out of it.
They should take about 20 mins, but check on them!
Once they are cooled you can apply the Icing!
First I cut out a smiley mouth onto the top of each bun!
Next I make the icing or you can do this while it’s in the oven! To make the icing I never use measurements I always just go by what looks right (Normally I have some left)
So to make the icing I put some marg in a bowl with a splash of milk, vanilla and blue colouring. Then I add in the icing sugar til its the right consistancy for spreading on a cake! (for a non baker i’m sorry if this isn’t useful!)
Then put the icing onto the bun, make sure you remember which side you cut the mouth out of and (I bought a pack of maryland choc chip cookies and cut them in half) then place your half cookie into the mouth section.
then put the eyes on (you can also make these while the buns are cooking!) For the eyes i rolled some fondant icing into circles and used a black cake pen to create the eye hole! once the icing is on and the cookie is in place the eyes on.
Then start on the next cupcake….it works best doing the combination all at once rather than all the mouths then all eyes because the icing hasn’t set on the bun when you do do them individually therefore everything sticks better!
So it’s been nearly 3 weeks since I got back from holiday, I can’t believe it already!
Came back to a terrible time, my great uncle had died and since my parents were also away I had family staying and had to sort everything out for them! Then after that my hours have changed at work and I no longer have permanent hours so I need a new job!
Any way to get back to my holiday the food was amazing, as you can see by my picture, this was an evening of tapas that was thoroughly fantastic!
So today i got this baby!
hello new toy!
Missing out on that spring feeling, its windy, cold and totally not feeling like the begining of winter and working a hell’a lot of hours this week- so tonight encorporates a much needed Dawson’s Creek session to just make everything seem that much better!
well this is severe, but this is what it felt like! my laptop decided to break a couple of weeks ago, and it is only now that it is working properly! After my friend ‘computer guy’ looked at it, and put it in an oven- sounds weird but now it works again so yey! I thought I’d lost everything!
so everyone remember back up your laptop! there is nothing worse than not doing it and thinking everything is gone…FOREVER!
In other happier news, I have just watched the 8th season on Grey’s Anatomy on box set- this progamme is seriously amazing and hasn’t lost a thing! Can’y wait to watch the next season- even if i do know what happens! makes watching even more exciting- the problem of having twitter and americans seeing the programmes and tweeting about what happens!
